About Your Teacher, Serena:
Music has been a major part of Serena’s life for a great number years! In fact, she started the Royal Conservatory of Music program at a very young age and has excelled throughout this journey. When Serena was in high school, she played keyboard in the orchestra pit for musicals like High School Musical and Chicago. Along with her hands on experience as a musician, she holds a Music Diploma from Capilano University. Since 2020, this passionate pianist has been teaching music at a studio named Mission Music Lessons, building great confidence and pedagogical experience. She is comfortable teaching a variety of ages spanning from 4 years old to adulthood. She likes to use a combination of theory, technique, and repertoire in her teaching practices. Serena has prepared a vast number of students for RCM exams, with many of them achieving honours. Her final goal is to become a school music/band teacher. Come learn with Serena in a fun and encouraging environment.

In accordance with British Columbia’s Provincial Sales Tax regulations and Canada’s Excise Tax Act, no PST or GST (Sales Tax) will be charged on these private music lessons, as they are provided and invoiced by individual entities and qualify as exempt formal instruction in musical performance. Lessons must be scheduled within six business days from the date of booking, or at a later date mutually agreed upon by both the student and the instructor. Once a date and time for a virtual lesson are confirmed, rescheduling is permitted only once, at the instructor’s discretion, provided a valid reason (e.g., a health issue) is communicated. The instructor is not obligated to make up time lost due to a student’s tardiness but may, at their discretion, accommodate brief delays caused by technical issues. No refunds or money-back should be expected for these lessons.
